Epoxy Crack Injection
Concept: | The injection of epoxy (glue) under low pressure to fill the crack through the thickness of the foundation wall |
Repair Location: | Inside |
Most Significant Attribute: | Structural repair |
How It Works: | The crack is filled with epoxy which then hardens, eliminates the crack completely and binds the 2 sides of the wall together |
Average Job Time: | 2 hours for the repair of 1 crack |
Typical Cost: | $495 – $695 + HST |
Our Warranty: | 25 years – written and transferable |
Polyurethane Crack Injection
Concept: | The injection of polyurethane resin under either high or low pressure to fill the crack through the thickness of the foundation wall |
Repair Location: | Inside |
Most Significant Attribute: | Repairs actively leaking cracks |
How It Works: | Crack is filled with polyurethane which cures, remains flexible, and eliminates the crack entirely |
Average Job Time: | 2 hours to repair 1 foundation crack |
Typical Cost: | $495 – $695 + HST |
Our Warranty: | 25 years – written and transferable |
Interior Perimeter Drain System Installation
Concept: | Water coming through foundation walls is channeled beneath basement floor and evacuated using a sump pump |
Repair Location: | Inside |
Most Significant Attribute: | Resolves both foundation leaks and problems from a high water table. This method of foundation waterproofing does not require the several weeks of lead time to locate underground utilities |
How It Works: | Water in a block foundation wall drains out of the bottom of the wall to a pipe system beneath the basement floor; the water is then pumped out of the basement. |
Average Job Time: | 1 day for a 30 foot system with a sump pump installation |
Typical Cost: | $4500 + HST |
Our Warranty: | 25 years – written and transferable |
Basement leak repairs done from outside
Exterior Crack Repair
Concept: | The application of a barrier such as foundation coating or BlueSkin® over the crack to prevent the entry of water |
Repair Location: | Outside |
Most Significant Attribute: | Seals the crack by preventing water from entering the basement but does not repair the crack. This method of foundation crack repair requires several weeks of lead time to locate underground utilities |
How It Works: | A patch (typically a rubber membrane) is placed over the crack to prevent water from flowing through |
Average Job Time: | 1 day to excavate and waterproof the crack |
Typical Cost: | $1600 + HST |
Our Warranty: | 25 years – written and transferable |
Applying hydraulic cement or similar materials to patch over an actively leaking foundation crack will result in water being trapped in your foundation wall. Such leak repairs will accelerate the deterioration of the foundation due to the saturation of the concrete.
